A man from Cwmbran has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a flat fire. The 49-year-old had been taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport with smoke inhalation. 29-year-old Samanthan Thomas from Cwmbran died in the blaze at a block of four flats. The remaining flats have been evacuated and Emergency Planners from Gwent Police are working with the local authority and Bron Afon Community Housing to find alternative accomodation for people living there.
