Guns N' Roses' Coachella gig got off to a bumpy start when the bands' tour bus broke down on the way to pick them up.

The rockers - Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash and bass player Duff McKagan - were left waiting for a ride when the bus broke down for three hours on the way to Indio, California, reportsTMZ.

The band are headlining on Saturday at the three-day music festival.

The bus, emblazoned with 'Welcome To The Jungle' on the side, broke down on The 10 freeway and sat by the side of the road for three hours before getting repaired and heading on its way, reports TMZ.

The legendary rockers are having some bad luck since they reunited for a surprise live show in Los Angeles on April 2 and kicked off a massive North American stadium tour.

He had to be pushed on stage in a wheelchair when they kicked off their reunion stadium tour in Las Vegas on April 9, and performed sitting in a 'rock throne' borrowed from The Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.

The rocker tweeted a video from his doctor about his broken foot, joking 'This is what can happen when you do something you haven't done in nearly over 23 years.'

The iconic hard rockers shot to fame with their 1987 album Appetite for Destruction, which remains the best-selling debut album of all time.

But they split over bad blood between Axl and Slash, with the singer calling the guitarist 'a cancer' at one point.

Axl - who has kept playing as Guns N' Roses with other guitarists - also shunned the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

Their reunion tour is set to earn the band millions.

Music industry magazine Billboard estimated that Guns N 'Roses would earn $3 million per arena show, and much more at Coachella, which draws more than 180,000 people a year over two consecutive three-day weekends with identical lineups. 

On Friday, LCD Soundsystem also reunited for a headline show at the festival, paying tribute to Guns N' Roses with a cover of November Rain.
