Normally wine-inspired nails ricochet between a deep, almost-black Merlot and a berry-infused Bordeaux. But rosé nails are shaping up to be our favourite tipple this season.
Pink for nails is hardly revolutionary, but it's also a staple that will never fail you. While everyone has their own way of breaking down the trend, manicurists are cleverly steering the shade away from Barbiecore predictability. They have even tapped into the fact that rosé wine from different regions has a different colour and character when serving up their nail inspiration.
So if you want to dip into the vanilla girl aesthetic (show me a vanilla girl who doesn't cosy up with a glass of rosé on a Friday night) – or you've already fallen hard for Vanilla French Nails and want another look that serves up hushed hues – rosé nails could be the intoxicating trend to jump on.
Even DIY manicure enthusiasts have nothing but love for this look as nails look expensive, glossy and healthy. Not to mention any chips are barely visible.
Put simply, rosé nails are a soft-focus flush for your fingertips and all we want to do is bathe in its warm afterglow.
Sparkling rosé nails
Renowned nail artist Betina Goldstein just posted "Sparkling Rosé" nails to her Instagram, which she says was created by mixing “one part @brillbirduk #169 with 3 parts @cndworld Shellac No-wipe Top Coat.” The effect is a soft jelly pink shot through with light-reflecting ‘bubbles’ of shimmer.
Merlot rosé nails
Jennifer Lopez also teased rosé nails for her new film Shot Gun Wedding. As ever, she worked with her main manicurist Tom Bachik to create a salmon-pink Merlot Rosé nail using Aprés Nail's aptly named “Smell The Rosé” polish.
Whispering Angel rosé nails
One of the most popular manifestations of the rosé nail trend is a very pale blush shade that bears a striking resemblance to a bottle of Whispering Angel. It hits the sweet spot between a sheer nude and a very wearable peachy-pink hue.
Blush Pink Rosé nails
Capitalising on TikTok's viral “blush pink nails”, which were popularised by Hailey Bieber and currently have 47.3 million views, is blush pink rosé nails.
They share the same punchy pink hue but blush rosé nails are less opaque. Nail hack incoming: A quick and easy way to recreate a blush rosé nail is to water-down a pink shade of nail polish by mixing it with a clear base- or topcoat for a translucent finish.
