Ex Love Island contestant Sharon Gaffka has revealed that she doesn't feel she was accurately portrayed on the show.
Speaking in an Instagram Q&A, the civil servant turned reality TV star, opened up to fans about her experience on this year's season, speaking candidly about everything from body shamers to what really goes on inside the villa.
When a fan asked her outright whether she felt accurately portrayed, she answered honestly, saying: "to be quite blunt about this, no, but it happens because it’s a show and it’s reality TV".
She went onto explain that since leaving the villa, she's been stopped on the street by fans who are surprised to see how different she is in real life. "People who meet me in real life have said I’m taller and skinnier than what they thought I would be and just generally very different," she revealed. "Even the bombshells say it when they come in, they didn’t expect us to look how we do. 110% nobody looks how they do on camera," she added.
Shazza is one of many reality TV stars who have been open about being misrepresented on shows. In fact, it's pretty common considering the amount of editing that takes place for us to have a whole 24 hours cut down to a one hour episode each night.
When another fan asked what it was like for her to see criticism of her fellow islanders who are still on the show, Sharon reiterated this. "I think it is harder for us because we know them differently and we’re aware it is one hour of a 24-hour-day," she explained. "But equally, there is nothing I can do about it apart from be supportive of everyone when they come out."
